Bug Lab - A Fun Bugs Kids Math Game is designed for children with intellectual disabilities and sensory processing disorder beginning to grasp numbers. It is to be played in the classroom or at home. To play this card game, the child recreates the number of bugs on the cards.

Technical Specifications: 

Step One: Gather materials.

  • Cardstock
  • Printer
  • Playdough (blue, yellow and pink)
  • Playdough accessories (beads, googly eyes, etc.)
  • Bug Lab (free printable)

Step Two: Print the bug cards on cardstock or on regular paper and then cut out the bug cards.

Step Three: Place the cards in a stack and have playdough as well as playdough tools on hand.

Step Four: Allow the child to pick a card and recreate each bug as well as the number of bugs given. For example, if a card with the #1 and a ladybug is chosen, it means that they need to create 1 ladybug.
