Sort This Out Pack

The Sort Out This Pack is an educational game designed for pre-school and early primary school students to use in the classroom and at home to target relevant vocabulary and concepts in a fun and motivating way, and to teach children skills required for categorization. The game comes trains which each have two carriages bearing a different category, with 8 boxes to load. The users needs to identify which category each item belongs to. The user can create their own content or use Widgit symbols to customize the categories and items to suit individual needs. The child sorts items into 2 categories to load their train so it can leave the station.

The user can choose from over 22 everyday categories, each with 12 possible items. User can also choose errorless learning mode to help beginners by ensuring success. If user chooses the app to run in errorless mode, it will “bump” out the item they chose and encourage the child to allocate the item to the correct carriage. Then, the user can increase difficulty and remove errorless learning as the child progresses. 264 clear and colorful Widgit symbols to sort into categories. In this application there are record labels for each of the items for added auditory feedback. User has the ability to turn off the music loop or audio support to reduce distractions if needed. A colorful results table can be emailed out of the app for the student or to share with parents. In addition, the user has the ability to pause the app to encourage discussion or to pace the app to suit the student’s needs.
