GDOL to host monthly workshop for veterans

ATLANTA ? The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) will conduct its monthly counseling workshop for veterans in Habersham CountyWednesday, May 18.

The workshop will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Georgia Department of Labor's (GDOL) Habersham Area Career Center, located at 215 Hodges St. in Cornelia.

Edward Robbins, a veteran's outreach representative at the Lawrenceville VA Center, will conduct the workshop.

The workshop will offer a wide variety of counseling services, including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), alcohol and drugs, bereavement, marital and family problems, along with assistance in applying for VA benefits. GDOL staff will be on site to assist the veterans with resume critiquing, employment counseling and job referrals.

Veterans should bring valid identification, including military ID cards and driver's licenses, along with their resumes.
