The New Heights Electric Elevating Power Wheelchair, models 08 02 02A-C, is a powered elevating wheelchair designed for use by individuals with lower extremity amputations, lower extremity, mobility, and severe physical disabilities, and spinal cord injury. The wheelchair is designed as a general purpose utility wheelchair with the ability to temporarily elevate the seat from standard seated height to a height greater than that of a person standing. FRAME (HxLxW): 51 x 33 x 24 inches. CONTROLS: Penny & Giles VSI Series Wheelchair Control System; alternate models available by special order. SEAT: The deat depth is 18.5 inches and the backrest height is 26 inches. These units incorporate a scissor type elevating system which is designed to provide stability in the elevated positon. The maximum elevating height is 22.5 inches. The seating system incorporates a tilt system allowing the user to tilt the entire seating assembly to the rear, and stop at any angle from zero to 80 degrees. This system is also includes a lever-operated reclining backrest. The chair is equipped with a seat belt and ankle strap or positive heel stop to hold the operator in position and provide extra security for individuals with limited balance and motor control. An optional contoured backrest is available. Custom seat depths or widths are also available. BRAKES: Electric motor brakes. FOOTRESTS: Powered elevating legrests are standard. Custom leg/footrest extensions and footrest plates are available. OPTIONS: Vehicle locking system adapter. POWER: Uses two 12-volt rechargeable batteries. SPEEDS: Six miles per hour with the seat down and 1.5 miles per hour with the seat elevated. The wheelchair incorporates a lockout switch, which automatically reduces the maximum speed of the wheelchairs to a safe level when the seat is in the elevated position, and also prevents the power seat tilt system from being operated while the seat is in the elevated position. WARRANTY: Five-year manufacturer's warranty on all units purchased, to repair or replace any unit or component thereof, which falls or becomes unserviceable due to normal use.
