Victim Witness Assistance

For more than a decade, the Victim Witness Assistance Program has been providing essential services to victims and witnesses of crime throughout the County of Merced. Our purpose is to ensure that victims and witnesses of criminal offenses will receive fair and compassionate treatment throughout the judicial process. In addition, the program attempts to alleviate the trauma and devastating effects of crime on the lives of victims and their families. Legislation has been passed which guarantees certain rights to victims of crime, and our primary purpose is to strive toward preserving and protecting these rights.
