Two reported injured by gunfire at Wiggums Hollow Park

The Daily Herald - 3/24/2019

EVERETT — Two men were injured Friday night in what was possibly a gang-related shooting.

Around 9:30 p.m., Everett police responded to reports of gunshots at Wiggums Hollow Park in the Delta neighborhood. They found shell casings, but no victims or suspects at the scene, police said in a statement.

Later, officers met up with a man who suffered gunshot wounds at Providence Regional Medical Center Everett. He wouldn't cooperate, but is known to have gang ties. He is expected to survive.

Saturday morning, detectives were told about another man who had been shot and was at Skagit Valley Hospital. He may have left the park when the gunfire started, police said, and both he and his truck were struck by bullets. The severity of his injuries was not made available. His truck was impounded for evidence.

The Gang Response Unit, Major Crimes Unit and patrol officers were still investigating Saturday. Tips can be directed to the Everett Police Department at 425-257-8450.
