On-Site Sewage Disposal
The purpose of the On-Site Sewage (Liquid Waste) Disposal Program is to protect the health of the public and environment from the improper disposal of sewage from on-site sewage and greywater systems; to educate the public on the proper operation and maintenance of sewage systems and to regulate septage haulers to assure proper disposal of septage.
The Division of Environmental Health evaluates proposed development sites for suitability of on-site sewage disposal systems, reviews submitted designs and plans, issues permits and performs inspections of system installations.
